And now, we blog!

I’m not sure there’s an appropriate way to announce the introduction of blogs to DNews.com. So we’ll just dive in with the introductions.
Certainly, there’s some irony in starting up blogs at a time when The Associated Press is having some challenges with the use of its content (i.e. this article in the New York Times). I expect we’ll be watching the case since we’re members of the cooperative and, like most news content providers, have an interest in how our material is used.
But at DNews.com/blogs you’ll find a bit of a different mix to start. Our Pulse Editor Omie Drawhorn will provide a steady stream of entertainment news at OmieOhMy that I hope you’ll check out.
Craig Staszkow, our new advertising manager, is putting together plans posting on inexpensive family outings.
And then we have Vera White. She’s worn a good number of hats at the Daily News — one of the most popular being her regular food column. Her Recipe Roundup should be a hit with people looking for quick or inexpensive cooking options.
Me, I’ll be posting on different industry trends and issues of the day.
All of us hope you’ll join us for the conversation.
I’m looking forward to hearing from folks next week after they get a look at the redesigned Daily News and the capabilities of our new printing press.

Steve; welcome to the North Idaho blogosphere. You’ll find an extensive group of bloggers just to the north of you, centered in the Kootenai/Bonner County areas. We’ll keep an eye on how you do.

Welcome to the club, Craig! I frequently highlight family trips and activities around North Idaho on my blog. I look forward to what you uncover… We need more ideas for things that families can do together.

Phil,
Good to hear! There’s a ton of hidden (and not so hidden) gems on the Palouse and beyond. My family certainly hasn’t hit them all, but when we find something worth sharing, it will be nice to have a venue to let other folks know.
