The Pullman girls soccer team secured a league title and home field advantage in the playoffs on Thursday. The win marks the second time in school history the girls program has taken the league title, usually falling into the “always a bridesmaid, never a bride” position of second in league. Pullman’s dominant line of defense which includes [...]

It’s finally here. My favorite holiday! Time to dust off your old witch hat, or maybe trade out that unfortunate Sonny and Cher ensemble (or not; your choice) for the sure-to-be-popular Sarah Palin get-up along with the trademark sexy schoolteacher glasses. Or maybe do something a little different and think outside the box. The sky is [...]

Washington State University coach Paul Wulff has decided on his starting quarterback for the Cougars road game against Stanford on Saturday. WSU went into the game ranked No. 21 in the nation and poised to continuing climbing the polls. I haven’t got a chance to speak to Potter [...]

The Vandals were also holding their “Dig for the Cure”, and their efforts in selling t-shirts netted the Susan B. Komen Foundation approximately $5,000 for breast cancer research.

Playoffs can be tough

At the risk of sounding cynical, I think playoffs are the toughest part of any prep season, especially in small leagues. When your league, conference, what ever you want to call it, is small enough that every game is a must-win, it is a tough set of circumstances for players, coaches and fans. For some teams, [...]

I plan on being out of town next week for a bit of R&R and will not have another posting until Nov. 3. This would be a great time for readers to drop recipes in the comment section so I won’t feel totally guilty. The recipe I’m sharing today is for pumpkin waffles that I [...]
