A successful weekend

Sometimes I don’t get to write about team efforts. Sometimes it is one person pulling for their team. But this weekend, it was teams which had the most success.

The more I observe sports and write about them, the more I see that success is usually directly linked to several players having a good showing in any given game.

Friday the Moscow girls and boys basketball teams found success as I watched and took notes because they worked well together toward the common goal of victory. A similar display was made Saturday by the Pullman girls and boys basketball teams.

Pullman’s Nate Swanger told me he tried to do his best in every game and practice because he liked to see his team win. Some people might take such a statement with a grain of salt but I took it as a statement about how working as part of a larger whole can bring not just success but satisfaction as well.

So, to all the weekend’s winners, on the scoreboard or otherwise, I offer my congratulations.

See you on the sidelines!
