Perfect morning

Thursday I had a near-perfect morning.

I traveled to Mountain Home on Tuesday to see my mom and then cover the Idaho-BSU game on Wednesday.

The game in Taco Bell Arena was spectacular. The entire building was shaking from the noise and the Vandals upset BSU with a thrilling comeback. Idaho coach Don Verlin said it perfectly - “unbelievable”.

On Thursday when I got up, my mom - who’s an Idaho grad - and I talked (gloated) about the game and then I saw that Ken Griffey Jr. agreed to come back to Seattle. Wow. I’m always excited for baseball to begin, but now the excitement level is nearly off the charts.

When I went to the Idaho-BSU game on Wednesday I thought Griffey was going to sign with the Braves. I thought it was a done deal. I thought it was another nail in the Mariners’ disappointment coffin. Monday morning when I read that he decided to go to Seattle I was stunned.

Griffey coming back to the M’s and Idaho sweeping Boise State - what a morning.
