WSU quarterback arrested

The WSU football team is once again receiving attention for the wrong reasons. Quarterback Marshall Lobbestael, 20, was arrested Sunday by the Pullman police department for being a minor exhibiting the signs of having consumed alcohol.
According to Police Cmdr Chris Tennant, Lobbestael was found in the passenger seat of a vehicle parked in front of the Pullman Police Department on Northeast Kamiaken Street shortly after 1 a.m. allegedly passed out with a grocery bag of vomit between his legs.
Tennant said receptionists at the department’s front desk tipped officers off to the vehicle, which had been parked in the spot for some time. It’s believed that Lobbestael and friends were at the station to pick up a female acquaintance who also had been arrested for underage drinking.
Lobbestael, who next season will be a sophomore, started five games for the Cougars before his season was ended prematurely with a knee injury.
Lobbestael’s troubles come two weeks after coach Paul Wulff was sanctioned by the NCAA for infractions committed while he served as coach at Eastern Washington.
OTHER FOOTBALL NEWS – Former WSU receiver Brandon Gibson did not participate in workouts over the weekend at the NFL combine in Indianapolis.
Gibson is apparently still recovering from a hamstring injury sustained during practice for the Senior Bowl.
He was the lone Cougar invited to participate at the combine.
