Two Vandals headed home

Idaho’s Shaena Kuehu and associate coach Gavin Petersen are headed home to Hawaii this week.

Kuehu, a freshman with a deadly outside shot, will be seeing her family for the first time since coming to Idaho. Kuehu was one of many Vandals who were stranded at Christmas break because of the weather. She made it as far as Seattle, but couldn’t make the trip home.

She said she loves playing for Idaho, but she is looking forward to seeing her family and her dogs - and the beach.

Petersen is equally excited, but was quick to add Idaho’s short foray into paradise is a business trip and not a holiday.

Idaho has never defeated on the Rainbow Wahine floor, and after an 0-2 week last week, the Vandals need a win.

For more on the trip, see Friday’s Daily News.
