This and that

I can’t tell you how great it was to finally get out and cover some events.
Last week was brutal. The weather dominated the headlines, and Idaho teams that were trying to play district tournament games were hammered by Mother Nature.
Going to the Idaho track meet on Friday and to the Whitepine district baseball on Saturday felt liberating.
It also made me think about how fun my job can be. I love getting out and watching games or events and then getting to know the people involved, whether it be athletes, parents, coaches or friends.
I’ve met some amazing people both on and off the playing fields, and I’m looking forward to meeting more.
The Idaho schools are either done with their seasons or headed to state. That means the Washington schools are going to be closing out their regular season games and getting ready for district play.
I’m sure some of the folks on the Washington side of the Daily News may have felt a little left out this past week, and I’m sorry about that, but not to worry. Now that the Idaho schools are state bound, Devin Rokyta and I will be hitting the Washington circuit hard.
I’m looking forward to it and I hope the weather cooperates.
