Hawbaker enters Pullman City Council race

Hawbaker visited the Whitman County Courthouse today to officially declare his candidacy. He will face Dave Gibney in his bid for the Ward 3 seat currently held by Ann Heath, who has said she will not seek re-election.
The filing period for the November election began May 18. In-person filing will be accepted through 5 p.m. today.
Councilman Barney Waldrop was the first to announce his bid for re-election to his Ward 2 position, followed by Councilman Bill Paul, who has competition from newcomer Jeff Williams for the Ward 1 seat.
Councilwoman Pat Wright will seek election to her post. She was appointed to the Ward 3 Position 3 in January 2008 and will need to be voted in to return for another term.
