Potlatch teens arrested for eluding sheriff’s deputies

June 22, 2009, 11:20 am

Two Potlatch teens were arrested around 1:21 a.m. Sunday after allegedly attempting to elude Latah County sheriff’s deputies on State Highway 6 near Harvard.

Latah County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher Heather Leonard said Daylin Brown, 18, was arrested for driving under the influence and eluding an officer and passenger Ashley Farley, 18, was arrested for minor in consumption of alcohol.

Leonard said Brown and Farley were driving down Highway 6 when deputies attempted to pull Brown over for driving a four-wheeler on the highway.

Deputies allege Brown sped up and turned onto Gold Hill Road when they flashed their lights. He then crashed the four-wheeler. Neither he nor Farley were seriously injured, Leonard said.

Another four-wheeler driver was seen with Brown and Farley but fled the scene before deputies could make any arrests, Leonard said.
