UPDATE: Structure fire death declared homicide

In a news release issued Friday morning, investigators indicated Sarah J. Parks was dead prior to the fire.
Moscow Police Lt. Paul Kwiatkowski said the investigation was ongoing. He said the preliminary autopsy showed no signs of gunshot or knife wounds.
“There are no suspects at this time,” Kwiatkowski said.
He added that investigators haven’t ruled out any suspects, but don’t anticipate there is any danger to community.
Moscow Volunteer Fire Department crews responded to a structure fire at 904 Vandal Drive, Apt. B, at about 7:51 a.m. Wednesday. After the fire was extinguished, firefighters discovered the body of Parks. She was 28 and a teacher at the Moscow Charter School.
The Crime Team is asking anyone who has information to contact the Moscow Police Department at (208) 883-7067. Anyone with information who wishes to remain anonymous can call the Latah County/Moscow Police Department Crime Tip Line at (208) 892-3898 and leave a message.
Information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible may be eligible for a monetary reward.
