Proposed Pullman rate increase not well received

Residents and business owners in Pullman say now isn't the time for the city to implement the water and sewer rate increase proposed this week.

Neither group was happy with the prospect of a 12.5 percent increase in sewer rates or an 8 percent increase in the cost of water.

Those increases were proposed during Tuesday's City Council meeting, and the city initially has planned a public forum so ratepayers have a chance to voice their opinions.
