Tekoa teen killed in Kootenai County crash

Brandon Hay, 17, died after a crash that occurred around 1:22 a.m. Tuesday. He died after being ejected from a Toyota 4-Runner driven by Travis Sines, 18, of Worley, Idaho, according to the release.
Sines was driving west at “a high rate of speed” when the vehicle drifted to the right in a left-hand curve, according to the release. The 4-Runner rolled several times before landing upside-down in a ditch and catching fire.
Sines and Hay were ejected, and a second passenger, Jonathan Hill, 18, of Tekoa, was assisted from the vehicle by witnesses.
Sines and Hay were airlifted to Kootenai Medical Center, where Hay later died of his injuries. Hill was transported to Kootenai Medical Center by ambulance.
The crash is still under investigation, according to the release.
