District 9 candidates weigh-in on the economy

August 5, 2009, 4:48 pm

The five candidates vying for a position to represent Washington’s 9th District in Olympia all agree the economy needs a boost.

It’s the details about how the state and local economies can rebound, where the money will come from and how soon the recovery process will take that leads to debate.

Democrat Glen Stockwell of Ritzville and Republicans Pat Hailey, the widow of Steve Hailey, Susan Fagan of Pullman, Darin Watkins of Palouse, and Art Swannack of Lamont all have filed for the position.

The primary election is Aug. 18.
