ELECTION 2009: Gibney, Hawbaker neck-and-neck in Pullman City Council race

Gibney has received 276 votes (50 percent) to Hawbaker’s 271 votes (49 percent).
In the other contested Pullman City Council race, Ward 1 incumbent Bill Paul has received 792 votes (62 percent) to challenger Jeff Williams’ 476 votes (38 percent).
Ballots had to be postmarked by 5 p.m. Tuesday to be counted, and Whitman County election officials estimate there are 2,500 ballots still to be counted countywide. Updated election results are expected to be released at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
