UPDATE: Searchers find missing hunter
November 13, 2009, 10:30 am
Charles Moody, 66, of Cottonwood, was reportedly alive and well when he was found just before noon.
Moody was hunting with his son, Brennus Moody, near Strychnine Creek Road north of Camp Grizzly. They split up around 4 p.m. and were supposed to meet up 30 minutes later, Latah County Sheriff's Office dispatcher Rhonda Bunney said.
Brennus Moody reported that his father failed to arrive at the meeting site, and the search for Charles Moody began shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday.
Charles Moody reportedly was not carrying food, water, or materials to start a fire.
Helicopters from Fairchild Air Force Base and the U.S. Border Patrol were called in to assist in the search.
Along with the helicopter crews, personnel from the Latah County Sheriff’s Office, Latah County Search and Rescue, U.S. Forest Service, and several local volunteers took part in the search.
