Kellis sentenced to life in Boy Scout molestation case

November 12, 2008, 5:06 pm

A man convicted of molesting four teenage Boy Scouts at Camp Grizzly near Harvard was given nine concurrent life sentences Wednesday.

Timothy Andrew Kellis, 38, will be eligible for parole after 15 years.

The sentences stem from nine counts of lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor child younger than 16. A jury convicted Kellis of the charges in September.

Prosecuting Attorney Michelle Evans said the Boy Scouts is paying for the victims’ counseling.
The four boys were counselors in training at Camp Grizzly when Kellis molested them in the summer of 2007.

Kellis denied all of the accusations during the trial.
