Safety improvements coming soon at Moscow crosswalk
November 18, 2008, 9:19 am
Moscow Public Works Director Les MacDonald told the City Council on Monday night the city and Idaho Transportation Department will install new safety measures at the crosswalk in the next few weeks.
MacDonald said ITD crews will install rumble strips in the pavement several yards from either side of the crosswalk this week. They also will paint signs on the roadway warning drivers of the crosswalk.
The city will soon remove the flashing warning lights currently in place and replace them with a flashing light that will hang across the roadway, as well as warning lights across from Wendy’s and Tri-State. People crossing the intersection still will activate the lights by pressing buttons by the crosswalk.
