Washington State is reportingly adding Cal defensive line coach Andrew Browning to its football staff, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg.
Browning, a former Boise State defensive lineman, had spent the last seven years in Berkeley and will return to the Pac-12 to join fellow BSU alum Kirby Moore’s first WSU staff.
The Cougars’ new DL coach played for the Broncos from 2003-06 and earned All-WAC honors in 2006, when he had 8.5 sacks.
Browning was also Cal’s defensive run game coordinator. His exact role at Wazzu is not clear.
Based on reports over the past week, Moore’s coaching staff includes Pullman High School alum Trent Bray at defensive coordinator and Matt Miller, a BSU alum and co-offensive coordinator as the Cougars’ OC.
Moore has also reportingly found a strength and conditioning coach, and position coaches for the offensive line, tight ends and cornerbacks. WSU’s two new coordinators could also lend their hand as position coaches, depending on how Moore decides to structure his staff.
Brad Larrondo, Missouri’s NIL manager and a former Boise State executive, will reportingly join Moore’s staff in a lead front office role.
WSU has not officially announced any assistant coach hirings as of Thursday night.
