Kirby Moore won’t be the only former Boise State Bronco coaching the Cougars.

On Wednesday, CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz reported that Moore, Washington State’s first-year football coach, had chosen Boise State co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach Matt Miller as Wazzu’s next OC.

Zenitz also reported several more Moore hirings, including a strength coach and position coaches for the offensive line, tight ends and cornerbacks, each with connections to either Boise State or Missouri, where Moore was OC for the past three seasons.

WSU also reportedly added Brad Larrondo, who headed Missouri’s NIL efforts, to a lead front office role. Larrondo was also an administrator for Boise State during Moore’s playing career.

WSU has not announced any staff changes as of Wednesday evening, but based on recent reports, Moore has hired an OC, a DC, and strength coach and position coaches for the offensive line, tight ends and cornerbacks.

Prior to Wednesday, Trent Bray, a Pullman High School alum and former Oregon State coach, was the only reported assistant. Bray will reportedly serve as defensive coordinator. That news broke over the weekend and Pac-12 insider John Canzano reported that his first day will be Sunday.

The Cougars’ current staff members are still under contract until released, with some, such as Jesse Bobbit, defensive coordinator and interim head coach, following former WSU coach Jimmy Rogers to Iowa State.

Rogers left Pullman after posting a 6-6 record in his lone season on the job. Washington State improved to 7-6 with its bowl win after Rogers’ departure.

Miller was a standout wide receiver who played alongside Moore, who was also a wideout, at Boise State. He has worked for his alma mater for the past six years.

Jack Abercrombie, Missouri’s assistant offensive line coach, seems to be the new lead OL coach for the Cougs.

Abercrombie was part of the Mizzou staff which developed several NFL-bound offensive linemen.

Missouri tight ends coach Derham Cato and Malcolm Hardmon, assistant director of football athletic performance, will also reportedly join WSU’s staff. Hardmon will be Moore’s head of strength and conditioning, according to reports.

Former Boise State cornerback Brandyn Thompson, who previously worked for Sacramento State and Cal Poly, is among Moore’s first known defensive hires.
